Position Summary

The IT applications team requires a support analyst to maintain the Marketing, Land, Production and Engineering application environments. Provide ongoing support for key integration projects activities, application support and IT projects. We expect the new employee in this role will likely generate additional demand through deeper engagement and alignment with IT and Business teams. This individual will be primarily responsible for providing technology-based solutions and daily support for Marketing, Supply Chain, Reserves, Drilling and Completion teams.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for supporting, providing, and implementing technology-based solutions related to Marketing, Land, Reserves, Engineering and Technical applications.
  • Resolving and researching data issues, identifying deficiencies, and proposing remediation solutions
  • Enforces technical standards, guidelines and best practices in application usage, management, testing, data integration and compliance.
  • Assist with systems upgrades, enhancements, outages, and deployments of software updates.
  • Participate and optimize server migrations for applications and assist in other technical efforts.
  • Facilitate meetings with end users, gather requirements on new tasks, reporting needs and translating business requirements to technical designs and deliverable.
  • Continuously seek for opportunities to enhance systems capability, standardization, and/or automation where applicable
  • Identify gaps and opportunities and streamline and optimize processes and data integrations.
  • Resolving and researching data issues, identifying deficiencies, and proposing remediation solutions
  • Providing end user training on supported systems as needed. Creating documentation for system knowledge base for quick solutions, workarounds, and reoccurring issues
  • Responsible for managing small to mid-sized projects, tracking status and milestones, and actionable updates.
  • Enforces technical standards, guidelines and best practices in application usage, management, testing, data integration and compliance.
  • Develops and manages effective working relationships with other departments, groups, and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced.
  • Ability to resolve issues with custom developed applications and work on special projects as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to successfully complete the essential duties listed above.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an application systems development/support role, and at least 5 solid years of experiences in business enterprise systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in Oil and Gas (including knowledge of Oil & Gas software such as Maximo, Aries, Wellview, OpenInvoice, P2 Land, AFE etc.)
  • Candidates will be self-starters capable of excelling in a fast- paced environment, possess strong troubleshooting skills, and enjoy helping customers.
  • Data and Database Knowledge: Working knowledge with relational databases and SQL is essential. Familiarity with Microsoft business intelligence tools such as SQL Server (SSIS, SSRS), understanding concepts like data modeling, database design, and query optimization is important for effective data retrieval and manipulation. PowerBI and Spotfire experience is a plus.
  • Programming Languages: Knowledge of programming languages (C++, Visual Studio, .Net and other tools) PowerShell is advantageous. Knowledge of scripting languages like Python or R may also be useful for data manipulation and analysis.

Other Skills

  • This is a user facing role, must be a strong communicator and be able to manage user requests and issues in a calm, friendly and effective manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively on multiple complex requests/projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

The work environment is in an office setting.  May work around machines with moving parts and moving objects.  Working closely with others or working alone.  Working extended or irregular hours.

The physical requirements of the job are primarily sitting at an office desk using a computer and other office tools but may require the ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, perceive depth, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs.

The equipment used in performing the primary job function includes but is not limited to computers and related equipment, calculators, copiers, fax machines, and a telephone.
