Position Summary

The BI Developer will work with IT and business teams supporting the reporting environment. Provide creative solutions, data visualization and analytics working with key application and data systems. We expect the new employee in this role will likely generate additional demand through deeper engagement and alignment with the IT and Business teams. This individual will be primarily responsible for development of SSAS cube, data modeling, and data management.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

  • The BI Developer will work collaboratively and support cross-functional team members, providing and maintaining the reporting environment and BI (Business Intelligence) solutions.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain tabular data models, ETL processes to inject, transform and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources.
  • Effectively demonstrate understanding of the various datasets, data streams, custom integrations, and implementing best practices in data modeling.
  • Actively participate in the design, development, and maintenance of complex BI Dashboards, Reports, Queries, and integrated applications.
  • Provide ongoing end-user support for Power BI reports and other reports built off of Data Analysis Services cubes, addressing issues and enhancing reporting capabilities as needed.
  • Ability to review queries and make recommendations for technological improvements effectively and efficiently.
  • Partner closely with SMEs and business team to gather business requirements, mappings, testing and successful delivery of BI solutions.
  • Ensure stability, scalability and efficient performance of analytics platforms majorly based on SQL Server platform (Databases, SSIS, SSRS and SSAS)

Qualifications & Skills

The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to successfully completed the essential duties listed above.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have 5+ years of strong experience in Data Modeling experience.

Other Skills

This is a user facing role, must be a strong communicator and be able to manage user requests and issues in a calm, friendly and effective manner.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize, organize and work effectively on multiple complex requests/projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Computer & Software Skills

SSAS, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI and advanced SQL required.

Prior experience working with Energy, Upstream and Midstream is required.

Experience with SharePoint is a plus.

Knowledge of ProCount, Aries, Wellview, BOLO, Enersight databases or similar systems is a plus.
