Position Summary
This position is responsible for optimizing production volumes and supporting facility modifications across the company’s production assets. The position will work with the production organization and Asset Team members to oversee operations and production optimization for all wells, well facilities, gathering systems, and compressor facilities for the team. The candidate will work to drive maximum production and efficient operating costs through an operating practices review. This position involves mastery of the fundamentals of production engineering and field operations. The position will also be responsible for creating value for the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.
- Monitor production volumes utilizing the Cygnet (SCADA)software platform. Diagnose production enhancement opportunities and make recommendations for improving performance. Evaluate and document results.
- Responsible for production economics, production forecasting, and modeling.
- Responsible for production surveillance, production chemistry, and flow assurance
- Responsible for training and coaching less experienced production engineers.
- Ability to complete nodal analysis models to maximize well performance.
- Ability to prepare AFEs and well-work procedures
- Ability to coordinate day-to-day Production Engineering field operations
- Actively seeks ways to improve the efficiency of work processes and policies
- Production optimization by surveillance observations, making recommendations to install and optimize artificial lift, and performing necessary facility modifications.
- Responsible for Lease Operating Expense (LOE) improvement by providing technical and financial analysis support to field operations in efforts to control and reduce LOE. Support the annual budget process for LOE.
- Responsible for collaboration with the field operations and workover staff to analyze well service and production enhancement opportunities. Determine the economic feasibility of well production enhancement opportunities, provide cost estimates, and draft up workover procedures. Support field operations with scheduling and execution of the procedures. Provide well-site technical support when necessary.
- Able to work effectively with production field operations staff and communicate design, process, and work instructions with all levels of production personnel.
- Will require periodic overnight travel (3-5 days a month or more) to the field operations.

Qualifications & Skills
The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to complete the essential duties listed above.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in petroleum, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
8-10 years of production and facilities engineering experience.
Other Skills
Knowledge of production engineering concepts and operational issues is strongly preferred.
Artificial lift optimization experience and an understanding of facilities are recommended.
Skilled in writing production procedures.
Skilled with oil and gas processing design and operations.
Skilled with production surveillance techniques.
Computer Skills
Strong knowledge of Cygnet (SCADA), XSPOC, and Rodstar.
Full knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Familiar with Power BI.
