Description:

This position is responsible for oil and gas asset reserves management for the Company. The candidate will generate and manage internal oil and gas reserves for both reserves-based lending (RBL) and the year-end 3rd-party audit. A successful candidate must possess a strong understanding of oil and gas company operations, midstream contract and fee structures, and oil and gas lease operating statements (LOS).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily:

  • Prepare reserves-based lending (RBL) databases and materials,
  • Generate and update well production forecasts and type-curves,
  • Prepare year-end reserve materials for 3rd-party audit purposes,
  • Prepare reserves reconciliations and document changes to reserves,
  • Interface with asset teams, midstream, and finance to understand well-performance, costs, and fees,
  • Present any findings internally and externally,
  • Manage engineering communications related to the lender syndication process for the RBL process,

  • Must meet demanding schedules and execute on timely deliverables,
  • All other duties and tasks assigned by the direct supervisor or manager.

Qualifications & Skills

The qualifications and skills listed below represent those required to complete the essential duties listed above successfully.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • 3-7 years of reservoir engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with reserves management and type-curve generation.
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas operations
  • Strong understanding of midstream contract and fee structures
  • Strong understanding of oil and gas Lease Operating Statements
  • Strong understanding of Oil and Gas databases and software
  • Ability to accurately forecast well production and type-curves

Mathematical Ability

Process complex mathematical calculations. Understand and recognize relationships and outputs from large and complex data sets, with a solid ability to analyze and generate conclusions from that data.

Computer Skills & Software

Strong knowledge of Aries, Excel / VBA / Power Pivot / Data Models, SQL / Other databases, DCA software (Aries, ComboCurve), Enverus, IHS suite, RTA, Spotfire, and Power BI.
